The handoff is dead. Long live the pod.

Why we ship engineering and marketing from the same table — and why our clients stopped asking about scope.

The handoff is dead. Long live the pod.

For a long time, agencies sold work in stages: design, then build, then market. Each stage had its own team, its own deliverables, its own reason to hand off a folder of files to a stranger and walk away.

It never worked. The site launched, the marketing brief was written against assumptions the engineers had quietly discarded, and by the third quarter the analytics were arguing with the copy.

We work in pods. One engineer, one strategist, one designer — attached to a single client from kickoff to the twelve-month review. They share a Notion, a repository, and a Slack channel. When the marketing team wants a landing page A/B tested against a new headline, they open a pull request. When engineering ships a new feature, the SEO writeup is drafted in the same sprint.

The measurable outcome is unglamorous: fewer meetings, tighter feedback loops, and a version of your product where the story and the code were written by people who like each other.
